Groomed indignity cast aside — for the occasion.
Silver tongued vendor of innuendo
seeking belief in his own words — for the occasion.
Steel taut nerves quivering from the effort to portray, yet conceal,
democratic superiority — to be like others — for the occasion.
Rhetorical pedantry with jet stream drive, hammering listeners ears,
delivered with egotistical humility.
And a thousand minds flock like sheep
to the courtyard of thought — for the occasion —
and a thousand mouths cry true,
yet the same minds thought false.
Victory to the orator — for the occasion.
Delivered thus,
three long years he rested in preparation for — the next occasion.
